Chauncy Charles Handy

    The family sailed to America from England, his parents settled in a small town in Ocondoa County, New York where Chauncy was born about 1820. The remainer of the family later moved to Wisconsin. Chauncy came to the Rio Grande Valley with his wife and four children where he later started the Handy Ranch and a second family. Thomas James Jackson Handy, the fifth sibling child, born August 16, 1843 in Dresden or Dayton, Ohio lived on the family Handy rancho until his marriage to Angelita Cavazos on August 25, 1866, daughter of Salvador Cavazos and San Juanita Anzaldua. Angelita was born on July 1844 in Mexico and she died abt- 1925. Thomas died August 4, 1927, both are buried on the Handy Rancho Cemetery at McAllen, Texas.
